Upstream network maintenance tonight

Posted by Blue Box Group about 10 days ago...

Friday Aug. 27th at 1:00am PDT (8:00am UTC - tonight), one of our upstream network providers will be replacing faulty gear on some of their core network infrastructure. Prior to this event, our BGP session with them will be temporarily shut down, which will force all traffic over other uplinks. This should have essentially zero impact on any of our customers' services, however during this maintenance window a very small possibility of a network outage exists. This maintenance should be complete within about an hour of its start. (Web only post)

Customer Bandwidth Graphs

Posted by Blue Box Group about 25 days ago...

Customers may notice gaps in the bandwidth graphs provided to them in their Box Panel interface. We're currently working on resolving this issue and expect to have a fix in place later this afternoon. Please rest assured that this is only an issue with our polling system, and does not represent any performance/availability impact on your services.

As always, please feel free to contact our support department if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!

Upstream BGP maintenance

Posted by Blue Box Group about about 1 month ago...

On Friday, July 30th, 2010 (tonight) starting at 12:45am PDT (07:45 UTC) one of our upstream network providers will be performing routine maintenance on one of their routers to which we’re connected. In preparation for this, we’ll be shutting down our BGP session with them a few minutes prior to this event, and then bringing it back up again a few minutes after their maintenance is done. While this is happening, traffic will automatically be re-routed over our other upstream network providers. Since this will be a controlled shutdown of the BGP session, we expect this to have almost no noticeable impact on any of our customers’ network connectivity as a result. Maintenance should be completed by 3:00am PDT (10:00am UTC) at the latest– however it’s likely to get done much sooner than that.

Update 2:00am PST (9:00am UTC): This network maintenance is now complete. As expected, everything went off without any problems, and no down-time was experienced as a result of this work.
